From Gatwick Airport

  1. Take the M23 Northbound to join the M25 - be sure to take the M25 Westbound (clockwise towards Leatherhead)  

  2. Continue until Junction 10 (signed Guildford and A3) and follow the A3 to Guildford 

  3. From the A3, take the exit off of the A3 signed University/Cathedral/Hospital 

  4. This will bring you onto a roundabout. Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral


Gatwick has a direct rail link to Guildford.


From Heathrow Airport

Traveling by Car:

  1. Follow exit signs to M4

  2. Take M4 Westbound to M25

  3. Take the M25 Southbound (anti-clockwise) and continue until Junction 10

  4. Come off the M25 at Junction 10 (signposted Guildford A3) and follow the A3 to Guildford

  5. From the A3, take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital

  6. This will bring you onto a roundabout. Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral


 By Coach & Rail

  1. Heathrow has a rail/air link to Guildford, or a coach from Heathrow to Woking, then train from Woking to Guildford

  2. You can take a National Express coach from Heathrow Terminal 4 to WokingCentral Station. Then a train from Woking Central to Guildford

Woking to Guildford: Approx.10 minutes

By Rail only 

Take underground from Heathrow to London Waterloo.

This stage of the journey requires a change of train.


Travel time from:

Heathrow to Waterloo: approx. 45 minutes

Waterloo to Guildford: approx. 35 minutes

  1. 1.Underground : Heathrow to Leicester Square (Piccadilly Line)

  2. 2.Underground : Leicester Square to Waterloo (Northern Line)

3. Then take overground to Guildford.

2. Walk to Paddington Underground

From the Channel Tunnel

Take the M20 (Westbound towards London), then go onto the M26. From there take the M25 (clockwise).  Continue until Junction 10, taking the exit signed Guildford A3 and follow the A3 to Guildford. Take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital. The University has its own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral.

Travelling by car:

The most direct approach is from the A3 London-Portsmouth road.  

  1. When approaching Guildford follow the mortar board and cathedral symbols

  2. Look for signs marked Hospital/Cathedral/University

  3. If approaching on the M25, exit at Junction 10 marked Guildford (A3)

  4. Follow the A3 to Guildford

  5. From the A3, take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital

  6. This will bring you onto a roundabout. Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral


Car Parking:

Parking for Camp Savoy participants is in the main car park opposite the Austin Pearce building. 

Please print the parking permit which will be emailed to you with your registration information, fill in your name and place the permit on your dashboard.


Travelling by rail:

  1. Fast trains from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour stop at Guildford

  2. They run at least half hourly and take about 35 minutes

  3. A slower service takes about 56 minutes



The journey from the train station to the camp:


Walking:

Leave station by footbridge and rear exit. Turn right from the station along Guildford Park Road and take the second turning on the right. Follow the path through the park-and-ride car park to the campus.

Bus:

ARRIVA buses (leave station by footbridge and rear exit, cross main road to bus stop) operate a regular service to the campus. Services 17, 27 and 37 run approximately every ten minutes during the day. The earliest service is at approximately 6am and the last bus is just before midnight. On Sundays there is a reduced service. For further information, call Traveline on 0870 608 2608.
