Jennifer Lopez sells her nine-bedroom Bel Air mansion for $34M

Jennifer Lopez has sold her Bel Air mansion in California, nine months after listing the property – which was her last home before she married Ben Affleck. The 54-year-old Jenny from the Block hitmaker sold the nine-bedroom home for $34 million — a record in the area — after initially asking $42.5 million for it in February, as per TMZ. The singer originally snapped up the home, which boasts a 100-seat outdoor amphitheater, for $28M in 2016.

Meanwhile the Argo director, 51, also sold his 7-bed and 9-bathroom Pacific Palisades estate around the time he married Lopez. The duo have since taken out a $20 million mortgage on a Beverly Hills mansion they purchased in cash earlier this year for a staggering $60.85 million.

The star’s former Bel Air mansion also featured a private lake and beach, an indoor movie theater, an infinity-edge pool, a gym, and 13 bathrooms. Lopez first purchased the stunning eight-acre property from actor Sela Ward and her husband, entrepreneur Howard Sherman. In total, the estate covers an estimated 14,000 square feet.

In addition to the lake, private beach and outdoor shower, the home comes with extensive grounds containing a cottage for guests, a putting green, and a pagoda with a fire pit. The outdoor amphitheater can accommodate up to 100 people, according to the listing agent, Carolwood Estates.

In one photo showcasing the home’s interior, the walls of the indoor theater are lined with movie posters starring Lopez, Affleck, and the pair together. ‘Monster-in-Law,’ ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting,’ ‘Hollywoodland,’ and ‘El Encante,’ which Lopez starred in with ex-husband Marc Anthony, can be seen in the photo shared by the listing agency.

In the main house, the home has a large fireplace, a bar, a library, and a stunning main entertaining room with high ceilings. Another selling point of the property is the ‘French Country’ style which blends elements of stone and wood. There is plenty of space to cook and eat as the main house contains a formal dining room and a chef’s kitchen with a built in breakfast area and stone fireplace.

All rooms inside the massive property also open to large terraces. Meanwhile Lopez and Affleck have decided to upgrade to accommodate their blended family, after they wed in July. Between Lopez’s children with singer Marc Anthony, 55, and Affleck’s children with Jennifer Garner, 51, the couple have five kids.

Affleck is father to three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 51 – daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14, and son Samuel, 11. Lopez is mother to twins Emme and Maximilian, 15, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 55. The pair, who closed on their new $60.85 million mansion this past May, opted for a mortgage from JPMorgan Chase Bank months later on August 31, The U.S. Sun reported Sunday citing documents in the transaction. The A-list pair have taken out a 30-year home loan on the Southern California luxury abode, the outlet reported. Lopez and Affleck, whose search for the home took almost a year, purchased the home – which is referred to as the ‘Wallingford Estate’ – via a trust fund run by their business managers Gary Kress and Brian Murphy, according to The U.S. Sun. Under the terms of the mortgage on the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home, the rate of interest will be at 5.5 percent for the initial six years; with November 2033 as the projected timeframe from when the principal and interest total will begin to be paid down.

The A-list couple married at Affleck’s estate outside of Savannah, Georgia, on August 20, 2022, which came more than a month after they exchanged vows in Las Vegas July 16, 2022. Previously, Lopez and Affleck met on the set of Gigli in 2002. (At the time, she was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd, before they called it quits and divorced in 2003.) The Bronx native and the two-time Academy winner started dating and got engaged shortly after. In January 2004, the couple called it quits and lived separate lives for nearly two decades, before reuniting in 2021.
