MV Agusta are paying tribute to their first-ever motorcycle engine with a special burgundy version of their Superveloce 800 retro sportsbike.

The Superveloce 98 Edizione Limitata will be capped at 300 units, with most already snapped up by dedicated collectors. It has been built to mark the 80th anniversary of MV Agusta’s first ever engine – a 98cc single first produced in 1943 in a bid to simplify transport during wartime.

While the special MV Agusta Superveloce has an extra two cylinders and a far greater 798cc capacity, the special ‘Rosso Verghera’ colour scheme was chosen by MV Agusta as a nod to the first motorcycle displayed with the original engine installed. Shown following the end of WW2 hostility, it too was painted in burgundy.

Sold with a certificate of authenticity, the new special edition also comes with a triple-exit Arrow race exhaust and dedicated ECU. You also get a special bike cover, plus a burgundy accessory box to house the extras in.

The standard MV Agusta Superveloce was first revealed in 2020 and is based on the F3 800 supersport bike. Visit for more.
